◎简　　介

　　乔纳森·丹普希是一个穷困潦倒的动物学家，多年以来，他都苦无证据证明传说中的尼斯水怪只是一个无稽之谈。于是，他前往苏格兰的尼斯湖作实地观察。到了当地后，他发现之前的一位调查者由于前往湖心观看，而死于相当怪异的原因。于是，他决定在一个乡下小旅馆住下，作长期的研究。在进行观察的日子中，他逐渐与旅馆老板娘劳拉坠入情网。他长期用声纳器扫瞄湖底深处，却毫无结果。正当他准备放弃调查时，劳拉交给他前任调查者所留下来的相机。没想到，正是这么一个小小的相机，为他们解开了尼斯湖之谜。
