辩论是把对人进行考查后所作的鉴定加以认真分析。 彼此用一定的理由来说明自己对事物或问题的见解，揭露对方的矛盾，以便最后得到正确的认识或共同的意见。辩论必须针对同类事物或同一问题，即存在着同一论题。如果各方谈论的论题不同，就不能实现有意义的辩论。辩论的诸方有或多或少的共同认识或共同承认的前提，如思维的同一律、不矛盾律、排中律和充足理由律以及正确推理的方法等，以及如社会公理、科学规律等是非真伪标准和价值取向。
