◎简　　介

　　汉克上尉专门从事核武器的研究，他工作投入，因而忽视了妻子与家庭。妻子卡尔丽却是个爱表现的人，不甘心过平淡的生活，性格放荡不羁。在一次核试验中，由于准备不充分，使两名无辜者受到伤害。军方竭力掩盖事实，汉克却试图阻止试验，结果与上司文斯发生冲突。汉克哪里知道，这位长官与他妻子有染，正企图借此机会陷害汉克。不久汉克被送入了疯人院，被折磨得死去活来。卡尔丽尽管任性，但终于意识到丈夫的重要，于是她开始营救汉克。
