　　一场惨绝人寰的大屠杀后，小女孩丽贝卡成为了唯一的幸存者，但她从此也得上了失忆症。几年后，丽贝卡长大成人并有了稳定的工作，但一系列怪事却接踵而来：接到神秘的死亡邮件、电视里突然出现死去的亲人等等，以前负责这起案件侦查的警官托马斯也对这次事件非常感兴趣，并同意协助她进行调查。事后丽贝卡鬼使神差地来到久违的屠杀现场，竟发现以前的死人全部复活，被告知凶手就在他们中间的同时接到报警的特种部队也来到此地展开调查，没想到当年的血腥一幕又将会在这里再次重现……

　　这是德国僵尸大师Olaf的又一血腥杰作，也是他所有作品中剧情最完善、最有条理的一部。它继承了Olaf“没有最恶只有更恶”的特点，并在视觉冲击效果上更进一步，几乎达到了唯美的境界，大有赶超恐怖极限之势。他所拍摄的片子里演员角色几乎都没有明确的正邪之分，有的只不过是“谁死的更惨而已”，就如世间万物都有虚伪的外衣，层层破茧后只会剩下赤裸裸的死亡。影片最后女主角在弥留之际被活死人救起，丝丝温暖的阳光透过残破屋顶照射在那张恐怖扭曲的脸庞上，却显得如此祥和（最后正义一方变成了大反派，而充当反派撕人无数的活死人们竟变成了天使一般的存在，这真是丧尸片中的一大经典桥段）。
