　　45岁的Krister的妻子Eva刚在一起车祸中不幸丧生，现在他和18岁的女儿Sandra以及6个月大的女婴住在一起。Sandra对他恨之入骨，而他更是不知该如何照顾女婴。

　　每个夜晚他都被Eva去世那晚的噩梦所烦扰，挥之不去的还有做为一个不合格的父亲给Sandra造成伤害的内疚感。他的梦中一直有一个身着绿衣的女子声称要复仇。一个他认识的死者正通过他的梦境一步步向他逼近。

　　Sandra的男朋友对瑞士的古老民俗兴趣浓厚， 很快他意识到Krister正被一个Mare纠缠着。所谓Mare就是一头昼伏夜出的雌性生物或是一个女夜魔。 他试图帮助Krister摆脱她。 Krister也试图重建家庭，使生活回归正轨.。但是他在小镇上的恶名让他很难再次取得人们的信任，尤其是对他失望太多次的人。

　　Krister发现自己身陷愧疚和迷茫中，迷信和噩梦使他身心俱疲，他必须尽快找到出路。 Mare究竟是真实存在的，还是他自己幻想出来的？
