　　影史罕见的“一部电影只用一个镜头”的大胆实验，同时也是希区柯克的第一部彩色片。导演以流畅的镜头运动和无缝的剪接手法，将几个长达十多分钟的镜头巧妙地连接在一起。多数拍摄的衔接处采用了人物背部的全暗特写，但是仍有几处特意的镜头转换，很有冲击力。整部影片属于话剧加实验电影。该题材来自一个真实事件，1959年拍成《朱门孽种》（Compulsion，又译《凶杀学生》）；1991年拍成《情迷意乱》（Swoon）。
