◎简　　介
　　　　故事发生在1080年的西班牙，彼时的西班牙并没有统一，而是分为三个互不干涉彼此国家政务的小国。卢利歌（查尔登·海斯顿 Charlton Heston 饰）因为暗中放走了国王卡斯提尔下令处死的摩尔人酋长而遭到了国王的厌恶。在一场意外之中，卢利歌不小心杀死了未婚妻吉米娜（索 菲娅·罗兰 Sophia Loren 饰）的父亲，导致两人的情感破裂。 　　不久之后，卢利歌所在的国家遭到了别国的侵略，卢利歌奋起反击保护自己祖国领土的完整，最终将敌人击退。然而坏事成双，卡斯提尔的去世让两名王子阿尔福斯（约翰·弗拉瑟 John Fraser 饰）和桑科（加里·雷蒙德 Gary Raymond 饰）开始争夺王位，好不容易恢复的和平再一次遭到破坏。
