　　该剧根据英国同名剧集改编，是一部以办公室为主要故事地点的浪漫爱情喜剧。制作该剧的是来自《我为聚会忙》的John Enbom，获得艾美奖的导演Todd Holland担任首集导演。

　　故事的主人公是两个公关经理，他们都有一段伤感的经历。Alex（Hank Azaria扮演）最近刚刚离婚，心碎的感觉让他几乎无法继续面对人生。他的同事Helen（Kathryn Hahn扮演）则刚刚失去未婚夫，尽管表面上装出一副若无其事的样子，但内心几乎快要崩溃。于是乎，在酩酊大醉之后，Alex和Helen两个不幸的人儿稀里糊涂地上床了。Helen认为他们不应该继续发展，而应该保持朋友关系。

　　与此同时，Alex的同事Dan（Mo Mandel扮演）、Gregg（Al Madrigal扮演）和Stephen（Anthony Head扮演）总想帮助Alex再谈一次恋爱，但他们的每一次计划都失败了。当Alex终于同意与一个女人见面时，Helen感觉有点嫉妒。Alex临阵退缩，于是……Alex和Helen又回到了他们当初竭力避免的尴尬关系：不承担责任的一夜情。Alex和Helen不得不思考他们的未来－－他们究竟该不该相爱？
